PROMHANDICAM Association ( Services for the Promotion of the Handicapped in Cameroon ) recognized by Decision No. 79/0025/D/MINAS/SG/SCES/BS of April 9, 1979 of the Ministry of Social Affairs, launches a call for applications for the recruitment of a communications officer.

Mission:
Under the authority of the General Director, the Communications Officer will be responsible for the internal and external communication of the structure. He/she) is required to contribute to the good organization and coordination of all activities relating to the field of communication and public relations. In addition, he/she must define and implement quarterly communication plans and visible communication strategies linked to PROMHANDICAM’s missions in general, and the Projects in particular. The holder of the position will contribute to the establishment of an effective mechanism for promotion, valorization, popularization of programs, as well as the dissemination of information and the development of strategies aimed at improving visibility, notoriety and image of PROMHANDICAM at all levels and with partners.
Attributions :
o Design, development and dissemination of messages and information linked to the vision of the association;
o Ensures the management of Promhandicam’s general communication internally and
o external
o Development, implementation and monitoring of communication campaigns; Participates in the implementation of Promhandicam projects
o Organization of events and coordination of PROMHANDICAM events; Guarantor of the brand image of the general director both internally and externally and on social networks
o Assists the General Manager in the formatting and dissemination of staff roadmaps;
o Writes and publishes articles on any activity carried out or involving Promhandicam Perfectly ensures the role of press secretary of the general director in all its
o movements
o Prepares activity reports carried out by the general manager

o Examines reports, analyzes and selects useful information for communication to the public; Checks the overall consistency of communication tools
o of all interventions (compliance with the visibility rules of financial partners, speech adapted to the audience, sign language, transcription of documents into Braille in a timely manner, etc.);
o Ensures the regular updating/updating of official, disseminable and usable information on the organization’s activities, through social networks, the website and other communication platforms;
o Management of the interface between PROMHANDICAM and the various interlocutors (media, decision-makers, members, general public, donors, partners);
o Development of contacts with the media and/or network of partners (press file) including journalists to ensure the effective relay of PROMHANDICAM messages and actions, in close coordination with the General Director;
o Development of media and marketing plans to amplify the promotion of PROMHANDICAM’s actions;
o Develop marketing strategies to promote Promhandicam services Prioritization of communication methods and supports adapted to PROMHANDICAM’s strategic plan and social development policy;
o Ensures the coordination of communication actions with external partners; Administrative management of mail (proofreading and correction of letters and service notes);
o Design and monitoring of the dashboard recording meeting decisions and provides feedback to the General Manager:
o Design of a communication plan concerning the structure’s activities: project sheets, contribution to the development and dissemination of reports and other documents, organization of radio and television broadcasts, management of the website; Serves as spokesperson for General Management after prior notice from the General Director before any outing to the public and staff;
o Breakdown of communication tools (annual reports, brochures, posters to different recipients;
o Consolidation of annual activity reports;
o Development of communication materials (journal articles, web pages, CD-ROMs, panels, film scripts, documentaries, educational documents):
o Communication with partner DPOs and other stakeholders of the specific Project;
o Mobilization of all stakeholders for the implementation of the specific Project; Establishing links for concerted work and information sharing;
o Systematically informs the Director General of the progress of interventions;
o Perfectly plays its role as an entry and exit point for the association
o The incumbent of the position will carry out any other task that the General Management deems necessary to entrust to him.
Profile
Academic level : hold at least a BTS in communication or equivalent diploma plus higher education in Communication, Social Sciences, Law, international relations;
Have a good ability to work in a team and under pressure;
Have a sense of courtesy and respect for your colleagues;
Have good writing and interpersonal skills and work experience in
development organizations (associations, NGOs);
Knowledge of the disability approach would be an asset
Professional experience : Have at least (02) years of professional experience in the field of Organizational Communication.
Be at least 18 years old and 38 years old at the most.
Linguistic and other knowledge:
– Very good knowledge of French required;
– Good knowledge of English.
Aptitude:
Have a command of French and English (bilingual);
Have a team spirit and be able to work under pressure;
Have skills in communicating and managing priorities;
Be autonomous, available, dynamic, courteous and presentable;
Demonstrate rigor and discretion and have a high sense of organization; Have good writing and synthesis skills;
Have good speech;
Master new information technologies (basic software or SE-Windows, word processing-Microsoft Word, calculation or spreadsheet-Microsoft Excel, presentation-Microsoft PowerPoint, publication-Microsoft Publisher; practice of electronic messaging and networking, etc.);
Have good command of communication equipment and office equipment such as photocopier, fax machine, binder-puncher, scanner, etc.

Remuneration :
The candidate selected for this position will have the status of temporary staff, with a fixed-term contract. PROMHANDICAM, as a 2nd category social work, offers, for this position, monthly remuneration in accordance with the salary scale and benefits of its staff in force.
The successful candidate will be subject to a three (03) month trial, renewable once before being integrated into PROMHANDICAM staff if the trial is successful.
