CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: Research Uptake and Advocacy Officer
Location: CRID, Yaoundé, Cameroon.

Role Summary
This position is part of a multidisciplinary project including a large-scale cluster randomized controlled trial (cRCT) in Cameroon assessing the impact of spatial repellents (SR) on malaria transmission and insecticide resistance profiles in comparison to dual-active ingredient long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (LLINs). This role bridges research, policy, and community engagement, ensuring evidence generated by the trial influences malaria control strategies in Cameroon, sub-Saharan Africa, and at global health forums (eg, WHO Vector Control Advisory Group). The officer will also lead advocacy efforts with government bodies, NGOs, partners, and communities to promote uptake of evidence-based malaria control tools, while addressing barriers to implementation, access, and sustained use.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Essential

Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Political Science, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
At least 5 years’ experience in research uptake, policy engagement, and/or advocacy within public health, preferably in malaria or infectious diseases
Proven track record in policy influence, advocacy campaigns, and evidence translation.
Strong understanding of malaria control and vector management strategies.
Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills in French and English.
Experience engaging with Ministries of Health, NGOs, donors, and global health actors is an advantage
Desirable

Experience with WHO, Global Fund, Unitaid, FCDO, Wellcome Trust, or similar donor-funded projects.
Familiarity with clinical trial communication and dissemination.
Demonstrated ability to work with multidisciplinary teams (epidemiology, entomology, social sciences).
Skills in participatory engagement and community mobilization in African contexts
