Recruitment notice: A DRIVER is needed

PROMHANDICAM Association (Services for the Promotion of the Disabled in Cameroon) recognized by Decision No. 79/0025/D/MINAS/SG/SCES/BS of April 9, 1979 of the Ministry of Social Affairs, launches a call for applications for the recruitment of a driver.

Assignment :

Under the authority of the General Director and under the hierarchical responsibility of the Project Manager, the Driver is responsible for contributing to the good organization and coordination of all activities relating to transport. In addition, he will be responsible for carrying out the transport of people by means of light vehicles, according to road regulations, the rules for the safety of goods and people, as well as the deadlines and quality requirements of PROMHANDICAM.

Duties:

o   Carries out urban, regional and national travel according to needs and service missions;

o   Determination of routes based on travel times and traffic characteristics; Safe driving from the place of departure to the destinations in return;

o   Ensures first-level maintenance and cleaning of fleet vehicles;

o   Completes the vehicle’s on-board documents and ensures that the administrative and police files of the vehicles in the vehicle fleet are updated;

o   Ensures fueling while respecting the directives and instructions of the hierarchy; Plans and carries out technical visits;

o   Assistance from internal security services in welcoming and guiding users at PROMHANDICAM;

o   Carries out mail deliveries and various liaisons with external services following the instructions transmitted by the Executive Assistant;

 

 

o   Completes the logbooks of commercial vehicles used;

o   Ensures that the personnel on board the vehicles have their personal documents and mission orders useful for presentation in the event of requisition or roadside inspection:

o   Participates in monthly evaluation meetings or any other meeting convened by management;

o   Writing activity reports.

o   Apart from all the aforementioned tasks, the Driver will carry out any other task that the General Management deems necessary to entrust to him in the interest of the implementation of PROMHANDICAM’s missions.

Profile

o   Hold at least a BEPC or any equivalent diploma with a driving license; Have good interpersonal and working skills in development organizations;

o   Have a good ability to work in a team and under pressure;

o   Have a sense of courtesy and respect for one’s hierarchy;

o   Have at least two (02) years of professional experience in the field of car driving. Driving experience in an organization would be an asset;

o   Be at least 18 years old and at most 40 years old.

Linguistic and other knowledge:

o   Good knowledge of French required;

o   Knowledge of English is desirable and an asset;

o   Knowledge of local languages.

 




 

Aptitude :

o   Have a team spirit and be able to work under pressure; Have skills in communicating and managing priorities;

o   Be autonomous, available, dynamic, courteous and presentable;

o   Demonstrate rigor and discretion and have a high sense of organization;

o   Have good writing and synthesis skills;

o   Have good speech;

o   Have at least basic knowledge of new information technologies;

o   Have good command of office equipment such as photocopier, fax machine, binder – puncher, scanner, etc…

Required Skills:

Qualifications (Knowledge):

o   Master the internet and the following computer tools: Microsoft office kit: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher;

o   Inform the interlocutors in a relevant manner;

o   Work as a team;

o   Express yourself easily to diverse and varied interlocutors;

o   Respect professional secrecy and confidentiality of information.

o   Special knowledge (Know-how)

o   Driving a vehicle requiring a certificate of professional ability to drive a taxi/driving license;

o   Motorcycle driving;

o   First aid;

o   Compliance with the instructions for mission elements (logbook, incident, etc.);

o   Writing activity reports.

o   Change management;

o   Ensure a quality welcome;

o   Carry out effective transmissions;

o   Identify a problem and know how to report it;

o   Take appropriate initiatives;

o   Good knowledge of the PROMHANDICAM environment, the inclusive approach, disability management and promotion of the rights of people living with disabilities. Take into account the disability approach in the execution of all tasks and/or missions entrusted to him/her.

o   Know how to be:

o   Organize and prioritize your work according to the issues, context and deadline; Know how to respect deadlines, be rigorous and precise;

o   Know how to deal with emergency situations;

o   Sense of good behavior and restraint

o   Have a sense of responsibility and organization.

Remuneration:

The candidate selected for this position will have the status of temporary staff, with a fixed-term contract. PROMHANDICAM, as a 2nd category social work, offers, for this position, monthly remuneration in accordance with the salary scale and benefits of its staff in force.

The successful candidate will be subject to a three (03) month trial, renewable once before being integrated into PROMHANDICAM staff if the trial is successful.

o   A certified copy of the last diploma obtained;
