Context
Impact Santé Afrique (ISA) is a non-governmental organization based in Cameroon
whose main objective is to contribute to the improvement of health populations by
implementing transformative and sustainable programs (for more information,
visit www.impactsante.org). ISA research Regional Project Manager –
Gender and community engagement specialist as part of the “REACH” project supported by a
consortium led by PATH under USAID/PMI funding over a period of 5 years
(potentially renewable) from of January 8, 2024. This project aims to provide
technical support and strengthen it in a sustainable manner with an emphasis on the appropriation
of local actors, true community engagement, communication for
behavior change and the integration of gender in programs to combat
malaria in Africa.
Main Missions:
Placed under the supervision of the Executive Director of Impact Santé Afrique, the
Regional Project Manager – Gender and Community Engagement Specialist will have the
main mission of ensuring the commitment of local stakeholders, the integration of gender equality
and social inclusion in malaria policies and programs.
He/she will be responsible for coordinating local actors in the development,
contextualization, elaboration of high-impact strategies and actions to combat
malaria through communication for social behavior change,
advocacy in selected countries. All of this is based on the following project pillars:
Deploy methodologies through a subnational adaptation
and human-centered design (HCD) approach.
Promote ownership and leadership at the local level to build
resilient systems.
Maximize opportunities to strengthen local partners and institutions so that they receive direct funding to lead malaria
control and elimination efforts . Systematize and integrate the collection and analysis of high quality data to all
levels to identify and reach those left behind and their needs
Ensure that design and implementation take into account equality between
men and women
Responsibilities: Ensure the quality of interventions proposed in collaboration with local stakeholders
in a participatory, inclusive manner in order to obtain a significant and lasting impact of the
project.
So specifically, he/she will be responsible for:
● Ensuring the response to country requests and the implementation of the project’s ISA activities
on time;
● Ensure the coordination of project activities
● Ensure the integration of gender and social inclusion in the
project ‘s malaria programs
● Ensure community and local stakeholder engagement in the
project’s malaria programs
● Ensure the production of project technical documents in taking into account the
objectives of the project;
● Participate in strategic and project monitoring meetings at all levels
● Write monthly and annual activity reports;
● Any other task assigned by ISA as part of this project.
Qualifications:
● Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Health or a related field
● At least 10 years of experience in public health/projects and other
related fields
● Proven expertise in the areas of community engagement, gender and
social inclusion in the fight against malaria
● Good specific knowledge of USAID policy on gender equality and
women’s empowerment ● Good knowledge of communication for social
behavior change ● Good mastery of prevention and malaria management ● Ability to work in an international/multicultural environment; ● Proven experience in the development of professional documents conforming to international standards ● Good bilingual oral and written expression (English and French); Assets ● Experience in project management under USAID funding ● Experience in human-centered design “CCH” ● Proven experience of oral communication, participation in debates and discussions in national or international forums ● Ability to develop solid working relationships with colleagues and different stakeholders such as partners, community members , donors, civil society, etc.; ● Positive and dynamic attitude;
● Ability to plan, prioritize and organize your work;
● Ability to work to meet deadlines.
