Information and Communication Technology Manager

The Directorate-General for Civil Protection and European Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO) of the European Commission practices a policy of equal opportunities in employment. It finances humanitarian actions to help victims of natural disasters and conflicts.

For humanitarian aid, the European Commission acts through more than 200 operational partners including specialized United Nations agencies, the Red Cross/Red Crescent movement and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). This assistance is made available to victims impartially, that is to say regardless of their race, ethnic group, religion, gender, nationality or political affiliation.

 




 

The ECHO Office in Yaoundé – Cameroon is seeking an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Manager under a local 1-year renewable fixed-term contract with the prospect of a permanent contract based on performance.

  • 5 years of relevant experience at national or international level in technical fields related to ICT;
  • Good knowledge of ICT equipment and systems;
  • High level of competence in installation, configuration, maintenance, support and optimization of computer hardware, network and software;
  • Ability to regularly carry out missions to local offices in the region (Central African Republic, Chad, Nigeria) to ensure the installation of new devices, the proper functioning of existing ICT equipment and the compliance of the local IT maintenance provider with respect to DG ECHO’s ICT policies and procedures
