Job Summary:

We seek a dedicated Pharmacy Attendant to oversee the management of our pharmacy inventory and ensure the smooth operation of medication supply at our medical center. The ideal candidate will manage daily inventory stock, maintain accurate records, forecast, collaborate with the district health service, regional drug warehouse, and regional delegations, and work effectively within a multifaceted team. They must possess exceptional attention to detail, high integrity, and strong knowledge of stock and inventory management principles.

 

 




 

Responsibilities:

  1. Daily Inventory Stock Management:

– Monitor and manage the pharmacy inventory daily to ensure adequate stock levels.

– Regularly check stock levels and coordinate with the Clinical Team Lead to replenish inventory as needed.

– Ensure proper storage and handling of pharmaceutical products to maintain their efficacy and quality.

 

  1. Record Keeping and Forecasting:

– Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all pharmaceutical products received, dispensed, and returned.

– Utilize inventory management software or tools to track stock levels and forecast future needs.

– Prepare reports detailing average monthly consumption and stock trends to inform procurement decisions.

 

 

 

  1. Team Collaboration and Operational Support:

– Work closely with the clinical and operations team and other healthcare personnel to ensure seamless coordination and delivery of pharmaceutical services.

– Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to contribute insights on inventory management and supply chain logistics.

– Support the implementation of best practices and protocols related to pharmaceutical inventory and supply management.

– Coordinate with the Clinical Team Lead and Chief Operations Officer to streamline the procurement of pharmaceutical products.

– Communicate effectively to ensure timely and efficient acquisition of essential medicines and prevention program commodities from the district health service and central/regional drug warehouse

 




 

  1. Integrity and Accountability:

– Adhere to robust and rigorous accountability systems for tracking and documenting all pharmacy-related activities.

– Uphold high standards of integrity and ethical conduct in all interactions with suppliers, colleagues, and patients.

– Comply with regulatory requirements and quality control standards related to the storage and distribution of pharmaceutical products.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

– Proven experience in pharmacy or healthcare-related roles, with a strong focus on inventory management and supply chain coordination.

– Sound knowledge of stock and inventory management principles, including FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and expiration date tracking.

– Familiarity with forecasting methods and average monthly consumption calculations for pharmaceutical products.

– Exceptional team spirit and the ability to work effectively within a diverse and multidisciplinary team environment.

– Detail-oriented approach with a keen eye for identifying discrepancies and ensuring accuracy in record-keeping.

– Strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective collaboration and information exchange.

– Proficiency in using inventory management software or tools to streamline inventory tracking and reporting.

– Commitment to upholding ethical standards, integrity, and professionalism in pharmaceutical supply chain management.

 

The Pharmacy Attendant will primarily work within the medical center’s pro-pharmacy facility, regularly interacting with healthcare professionals and patients. The candidate should be prepared to adapt to changing priorities and address urgent inventory needs as they arise.

The successful candidate will play a crucial part in ensuring the availability, quality, and timely distribution of essential medicines and prevention program commodities to support the delivery of healthcare services and improve patient outcomes.
