For our operations in Cameroon, we are looking for:
ADVOCACY, COMMUNICATION AND GENDER MANAGER

Action Against Hunger is an international, apolitical,
non-denominational and non-profit Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).

 Responsible for advocacy, communication and gender activities of Action Against Hunger
Cameroon and the programs in which we are engaged.
MISSION 1: ADVOCACY
Activity 1: Implement and monitor the national Advocacy strategy for the mission,
consistent with the technical strategies of the mission and the international ACF Advocacy strategy:
– Lead the development of the advocacy strategy ACF National;
– Develop the action plan, deploy and coordinate the advocacy actions defined in the
advocacy strategy of the ACF Cameroon mission;
– Write summary and positioning documents and actively participate in the development of
advocacy messages/arguments related to the PD;
– Represent ACF in the exchange frameworks of the SUN (Scaling Up Nutrition) civil society organization platform
in Cameroon;
– Contribute to the development and ensure the integration of advocacy objectives into
intervention proposals;
– Contribute to advocacy activities (collection and analysis of relevant information,
possible participation in international forums and meetings) and working groups of the
international ACF network;
– Ensure the adaptation and implementation of activities linked to the overall advocacy objectives
on the mission (support for campaigns, multi-country advocacy activities);

II. POSITION MISSIONS

– In conjunction with the MEAL, set up a system for monitoring and evaluating the results of
advocacy activities.
Activity 2: Ensure the implementation of the advocacy strategies of the consortia in which ACF
Cameroon is involved:
– Pilot the development of the advocacy strategy of all projects involving an
advocacy component;
– Organization of thematic workshops, production of argumentation papers;
– Participation in meetings with institutional actors, collaboration with
local civil society organizations.
Activity 3: Strengthen the capacities of ACF staff and their local partners through training
and the production of tools:
– Contribute to strengthening the Advocacy expertise of ACF and its partners;
– Training and technical support provided to teams and partners in the principles, issues and
methodologies of advocacy;
– Provide methodological support for the revision of the advocacy strategy;
– Identify the training needs of the team members under your responsibility, if applicable;
– Supervision and management of team members under your direct responsibility, if applicable.
Furthermore, it will have to:
– Ensure the capitalization of advocacy activities (Mission Cameroon and programs) and its
transmission;
– Develop and coordinate partnerships with other advocacy actors (NGOs and
civil society);
– External representation.
MISSION 2: COMMUNICATION
Develop a communication strategy for ACF Cameroon, and the mission programs:
– Write press releases;
– Develop contacts with the media to enable effective and efficient relay of our
messages;
– Produce visual and written content for the Facebook and Twitter pages of the mission programs
;
– Ensure the integration of communication objectives in intervention proposals;
– Provide technical communication support to ACF project/program teams and our
partners;
– Manage the social networks (Twitter, etc.) on which ACF Cameroun is present.
MISSION 3: GENDER
Ensure that gender is taken into account within the mission’s programs and supports:
– Ensure the review of GMS and monitor its implementation;
– Ensure the consideration and integration of gender in the writing and implementation of
mission projects;

– Identify the need for capacity building of teams and partners on gender and
organize capacity building sessions;
– Update HR data on gender every six months;
– Participate and represent ACF in gender working groups;
– Follow the mission’s gender certification process.
III. DIPLOMA/LEVEL OF STUDY AND EXPERIENCE
 BAC + 5 in humanitarian or general training such as political science or communication;
 Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position or experience in advocacy (in
another field);
 Proven experience in mobilizing external stakeholders (civil society, national authorities, etc.), in
relations with national media;
 Excellent command of French, both written and spoken;
 A very good level of oral and written English.

IV. REQUIRED SKILLS
 Knowledge:
– Excellent writing skills in writing financing proposals,
donor reports, capitalization reports;
– Mastery of relations with the media and the use of the main social networks (Facebook,
Twitter);
– Very good training and knowledge transmission capabilities;
– Computer skills.
 Know-how:
– Excellent knowledge of the advocacy cycle and advocacy tools
– Analysis and reporting capacity;
– Organization of workshops;
– Excellent ability to manage time and priorities;
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively;
– Good communication, sense of diplomacy;
– Ability to advise managers and employees on advocacy issues.
 Soft skills:
– Strength of proposal;
– Demonstrated sense of confidentiality, discretion and listening skills;
– Good organizational skills and proactivity;
– Dynamism, Rigor, pragmatism and flexibility;
– Good interpersonal skills.
