ASSOCIATION

PROMHANDICAM Association (Services for the Promotion of the Disabled in Cameroon) recognized by Decision No. 79/0025/D/MINAS/SG/SCES/BS of April 9, 1979 of the Ministry of Social Affairs, with the financial and technical support of its partner Christian Blind Mission (CBM), is launching a call for applications for the recruitment of a project manager for the implementation of specific projects.

Mission:

Under the authority of the General Director, the Project Manager is responsible for contributing to the good organization and coordination of all activities falling within the scope of the specific Project for which he is responsible for steering the activities. In addition, it ensures the coordination and management of all aspects of the implementation of the Project to achieve the objectives and desired changes according to the planned schedule and the partner’s requirements.

Attributions:

o   Ensures the planning, organization and direction of all activities necessary to achieve all objectives of the given Project;

o   Ensures that the objectives of the specific Project are achieved, while respecting the allocated resources

o   Ensures compliance with targets and deadline budgets established for the specific Project, and provides the planned reports and evaluations;

o   Completes and finalizes all documents to be delivered as part of the Project, respecting deadlines;

o   Communication with all actors involved and/or concerned in the implementation of Project activities;

o   Ensures the creation of a consultation framework with the Project sub-partners;

o   Mobilizes key stakeholders mentioned in the Project proposal so that they participate in the Project;

o   Performs an analysis of the documentation and the Project;

o   Develops a methodology and an evaluation plan for the Project;

o   Supervises exchange meetings, workshops/seminars, internal meetings, round tables and conferences organized by the Project;

o   Conducts research and analyzes relevant documents – information, working documents and data drawn from different meetings;

o   Establishes and maintains effective and continuous communication with disabled people and Disabled People’s Organizations (DPOs) directly or indirectly involved in the Project;

o   Continuously monitors the progress made by the Project;

o   Leads all stages of the Project, ensuring methodical and systematic evaluation; Update the General Director regularly on the progress of the Project;

o   Works with the Director General to prepare reports on finances and activities for funding agencies.

o   Apart from all the above-mentioned tasks, the Project Manager will carry out any other task that General Management deems necessary to entrust to him.

 




 

Required profile

o   Hold a Master’s degree in social sciences, sociology, project management or similar diploma;

o   Have at least 05 years of proven experience in managing management projects

o   development;

o   Level of French, fluent English. Knowledge of local languages ​​would be an asset;

o   Carry out all stages of the project by ensuring methodical and systematic evaluation; Keep the General Director regularly informed of the progress of the project; Work with the Director General to prepare reports on finances and activities for the attention of funding agencies;

o   Good knowledge of the PROMHANDICAM environment of the disability approach, for the promotion of the rights of people with special needs and the procedures of international donors

Specific technical knowledge

Organizational Development Administration;

Setting up, planning, programming, implementation and monitoring-evaluation of projects and programs;

Design of operational project management tools;

Mobilization and breakdown of allocated resources;

Preparation of project audits;

Management of project teams;

Procedures of international donors

Contract length:

The duration of the contract is two (02) years renewable

Special knowledge

o   Administration and organizational development; Change management;

o   Setting up, planning, programming, implementation and monitoring-evaluation of projects and programs;

o   Design of operational project management tools;

o   Mobilization and breakdown of allocated resources;

o   Procedures of international donors;

o   Preparation of project audits;

o   Management of project teams;

o   Writing project documents.

o   Ensure a quality welcome;

o   Perform effective transmissions:

o   Identify a problem and know how to report it;

o   Take appropriate initiatives;

o   Good knowledge of the PROMHANDICAM environment, the inclusive approach for promoting the rights of people with special needs and the procedures of international donors.

o   Take into account the disability approach in the execution of all tasks and/or missions entrusted to him/her.

o   A cover letter addressed to the General Director of PROMHANDICAM A detailed CV

o   Copies of diplomas and certificates obtained

o   A copy of the National Disability Card, if disabled candidate;

o   Any document proving the required professional experience (contracts, certificates, etc.)
